Tour H - OC Transpo Transit Operations Control Center, Simulators, and E-bus Facility

Tuesday, September 26 9:30 - 11:30
Description:

Pre-registration required.

Capacity: 45

Mode of Transportation: OC Transpo charter

Description: This tour will bring participants behind the scenes at three of OC Transpo’s most exciting operations and training facilities: the Traffic Operations Control Center (TOCC), Rail/Bus simulators, and e-bus facility. The TOCC is the heart of the City’s public bus, rail and Para Transpo operations, monitoring over 2400 cameras in Transitway and O-Train Stations, OC Transpo vehicles, and real-time GPS information on transit routes. The bus and train simulator will show participants how Ottawa’s buses and Alstom Citadis Spirit trains are operated and controlled. Lastly, a tour of OC Transpo’s e-bus facility, which currently charges four e-buses, will be given.

Requirements: Non-disclosure agreements must be signed for the Transit Operations Control Center. PPE (a high visibility vest and closed-toe shoes) is required on the e-bus facility portion of the tour. Participants are responsible for their own PPE.

How to attend: If you pre-registered for a tour, but can no longer attend, return your tour ticket to the Info Booth. If you’d like to go on a tour but didn’t sign up, visit the Info Booth to check if any tour tickets are available. 15 minutes before the tour’s start time, head to Level 1 and volunteers will be there to provide instructions.
