Description: This historic lockage system and UNESCO World Heritage Site consists of 29 individual locks and facilitates travel up and down the canal through many remote environments and townsites. The Rideau Canal is North America’s best-preserved “slack water” canal, and the only one from the great 19th-century canal-building era that still operates along its original route with most of its original structures intact.

How to attend: If you pre-registered for a tour, but can no longer attend, return your tour ticket to the Info Booth. If you’d like to go on a tour but didn’t sign up, visit the Info Booth to check if any tour tickets are available. 15 minutes before the tour’s start time, head to Level 1 and volunteers will be there to provide instructions.
