1. BACK TO THE FUTURE? END OF MORTGAGE AND SERVICE AGREEMENTS
Facilitator: Peter Gesiarz, Ontario Regional Manager, CHF Canada
The recent regulatory changes made to the Housing Services Act will provide housing co-ops with unprecedented opportunities to reimagine their community. With opportunities also come challenges in navigating the cultural shift from being legislatively regulated to negotiating a partnership agreement.
In this workshop, we will update you on how to start preparing for your co-op’s end of mortgage, the resources available through the sector that can assist your co-op in preparation, and highlight the next steps for working with your service manager to transition from legislative regulations to a Service Agreement partnership.
Please note that this workshop is for Ontario co-ops that operate under the Housing Services Act and report to a municipal service manager.
2. Q & A ON THE FEDERAL RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM - PHASE 2
Agency for Co-operative Housing - various staff
Staff from the Agency for Co-operative Housing will be in town to provide you with updates on the FCHI-2and answer your questions on the program and its requirements. Bring all your FCHI-2 forms!

Housing co-operatives are not a new concept, but there has been a limited number of new co-op units built in Canada over the last 20 years. With the need for affordable housing greater than ever across the country, hear what is being done and how you can help meet this need.

Registration fees:
$50 per participant (CHF Canada member)
$150 per participant (Non-members)

Registration Tips:
  • If you are completing the registration on behalf of another attendee, please answer all questions on the form with their personal information/selections, and not yours.
  • If more than one person from your co-op/organization is attending, they will need to be registered separately. You can register everyone at the same time, on the same form, or at a later date. When you complete the first person's registration, you will see a button at the bottom to “Register another” attendee
  • If at a later date you would like to register more attendees from your coop, you can do so. The system will recognize your co-op's history when the next person is registered, and apply fees accordingly.
