Saturday October 15, 2022, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm
Theme - Reinventing ourselves post pandemic

Registration: 8:30 am – 9:00 am
Delta Hotels Saint John, 39 King Street, Saint John | 506-648-1981

Morning networking – co-op bingo! 9:00 am – 9:45 am
Start the day with your fellow co-operators. The focus of this session is to provide a forum for you to exchange ideas with co-op members and directors from other housing co-ops across the province. We have heard that participants learn from each other and we know that this type of peer-to-peer exchange is valuable. No matter where you are in the province, you will find some common experiences governing, managing and living in a housing co-op.

Morning workshop 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Allison Ferrisis the Client Services Co-ordinator at Housing Alternatives, Saint John, New Brunswick and a CHF Canada workshop leader
You may be asking yourself “after two years, how do we get back to normal?” but what you should be asking yourself is “what is normal?” The way a co-op operated in the past changed during the pandemic, we will talk about what worked, what did not, and what best practices to continue and plan for in the new normal, post-pandemic.

In this workshop you will:
•have the chance to talk about how the pandemic experience affected governance at your housing co-op
•have the opportunity to learn from others and how they tried to keep governance strong despite it all
•discuss whether our experience over the past two years has changed how we will achieve stellar co-op governance post-pandemic.

Networking lunch 12:00 pm –1:00 pm
Join us for a buffet lunch and a chance to connect, chat and learn more from co-op members from across New Brunswick.

Afternoon workshop 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Jaclyn Johnstonis Co-ordinator Atlantic Region and a workshop leader at CHF Canada.
How do members of housing co-ops understand who does what, why and when? Even in co-ops where people can wear many hats, it is possible for roles to be clear and understood. Learn about your role (as a member or a board member) and stay in your lane. This workshop will provide a clear description of the different roles, who does them and why. Learn what can happen when these roles are confused and how to avoid this.

Registration Tips:
  • If you are completing the registration on behalf of another attendee, please answer all questions on the form with their personal information/selections, and not yours.
  • If more than one person from your co-op is attending, they will need to be registered separately. When you complete the first person's registration, you will see a button at the bottom to “Register another” attendee.
  • If at a later date you would like to register more attendees from your co-op, you can do so. The system will recognize your co-op's history when the next person is registered, and apply fees accordingly.
